Magic of the Eclipse

Perhaps you, too, have come across writings by astrologers or seers about the marvelous time of change we are living in. A compassionate outpouring of pure feminine Mother energy is now washing over our world through new cosmic channels that have recently opened—channels that have now been opened toward Earth every week. The Solar Eclipse is one such marvelous channel opening up new energy—and new creative power—for us. Indeed, we are on the verge of a great transition, and a new gateway is opening for those who are ready to leave the old behind and take a step forward, freed from the past.
What can this then mean in practical terms?
It might be helpful to pause for a moment to reflect on the writings of the great teachers, which are based on their own experiences and those of many who have followed in their footsteps, regarding how spiritual development progresses.
The idea that comes to mind for me is that, in order to move forward, to step through a new gate, we must view absolutely everything with fresh, accepting, and forgiving eyes. Including ourselves.
“Do not repay evil with evil”
In accordance with the guidance summarized by Pekka Ervast, we too should strive in this chaotic world to act in ways that increase goodness, so that a new world may be born.
In practice, this means that each of us must look within ourselves and examine where we still harbor hatred, bitterness, or a vengefulness toward our neighbors or anyone else. “But that person did this and said this and that,” is what keeps us really firmly tied to the old. When we do everything we can to let go of our own repetitive and harmful thought patterns and emotions—whether they concern ourselves or others—we set ourselves free, because we release our energy toward the new.
“Forgive those who have wronged you.”
These words hold the key to true liberation! What a tremendous relief it is for us when we strive for this and finally succeed! I feel as if I’m being set free from prison when I do everything in my power so that my tormenting thoughts could go away and would instead look into my own backpack to see how I myself have treated others throughout my life—speaking harshly, hurting them, slandering them—and/or if I focus on the negative aspects I constantly see in them and want to see.
I know firsthand how hard it has been to free myself from negative thought patterns tied to the past. A strict, at times violent father who crossed the boundaries of personal integrity has been an effective teacher in the art of forgiveness. The many insults in my own marriage and the harms of alcohol have also pushed me toward the necessity of liberation from that burden through forgiveness. Community life, for its part, has also been a great teacher—thank you for that as well.
The willingness to let go is the most important mental step leading toward liberation. Accepting one’s own feelings regarding these matters, along with the ways of letting go of them, is the second step. The tools for this exist, and now is the time to use them with strong will.
Once the work has been done, it’s important to make sure you don’t go back to ponder or ruminate on past events, because forgiveness must be permanent, and staying in that state truly is a matter of will.
Stepping into the new also brings forgiveness for ourselves, as our new, pure vibration draws it toward us while higher forces come closer to us, and we become whole on both the physical and spiritual levels.
Each of us is capable of this, as long as we consciously strive for it, for this is what the Masters have promised, and many before us have also experienced it as true.
The total Solar Eclipse, which is now visible in Finland at about 85%, is also special in that way that the next total eclipse here will occur here only after a hundred years. The Nordic region has long been blessed with eclipse outpourings, but now the focus is shifting elsewhere. This endpoint is, in fact, a unique opportunity for each of us to put an end to patterns that do not serve.
The creative forces of the new moon are present, and it would be good for each of us to clarify for ourselves the new, clear direction we wish to take as we pass through the gate. The idea of ourselves as renewed is a gift, and it is important for this vision to take shape before the eclipse. The deepest moments of the eclipse in Finland will occur around 8:15–9:15 pm (5.15-6.15 pm UTC).
An eclipse occurring in the sign of Leo can bring out the very best and most brilliant in ourselves, through which we can then gently serve others and all of humanity. In the words of my teacher: What is most valuable within me, what should I cherish as the greatest gift during my life? It is good to focus on that as well. So let us let go of unnecessary pride, elevating ourselves above others, or even of our desire to fight or belittle others. These are the unproductive blusters of a young lion, which only destroy.
Let us instead envision a world where, together, we do good deeds and work that leads to a bright, harmonious coexistence with everyone. May the most valuable and precious part of me guide everything in my life.
